Since no two children are the same, neither are our lessons! All of our lessons are bespoke, designed to meet your child's specific needs and delivered to the highest possible standard. There will be opportunities to ask and answer questions, explore complex ideas, and practice examination technique in every lesson though. All of our tutors use real past-paper questions to supplement your child's learning and maximise their chances  of success in future exams.

All of our tutoring relationships begin with a getting to know you session between tutor, parent, and student, which includes a questionnaire about your child's preferred ways of working and the areas in which they'd like to concentrate. This allows our tutors to plan effective lessons that suit your child right from day one.

It's a matter of personal preference, but remember that most of our tutors are local to Hertfordshire/North London an operate in the immediate area for in-person lessons. Most of our tutors offer both types of lessons and may be able to offer more flexibility online, especially if you are further afield.

Lesson prices are set by the tutors themselves, and vary depending on the type of tutoring, level of experience and client rating the tutor has, as well as how many sessions you book. 

We recognise that tutoring is an investment in your child's future. You have the option to purchase a block of lessons in advance to save. Buying a block of five lessons will save you 5%, and ten or more lessons 10% (buy nine lessons, get one free!). Lessons are for the registered student only are non-refundable and non-transferable. This offer may be withdrawn at any time.

Lessons are typically one hour long, and include homework that will be marked. All our online lessons are offered via Teams or Zoom and include the use of an online student workbook, which will contain all of their lesson materials, links, and homework tasks for the week.

At Hearts Tutors, most of our tutors have been, or are now, serving teachers. So we know the importance of parental involvement in their child's education. Parent's have the opportunity to sign up to a 'Parent's Consultation' every 6-8 sessions with their tutor, to review progress against goals and share constructive feedback to maximise your child's learning. This is a ten to fifteen minute online discussion for tutor, parent, and student to get together to celebrate their successes and explore areas for development.

Good teaching for SEND students the best teaching for all students. Many of our tutors have experience and training working with students with SEND, and some have specific qualifications in this area. Contact us to discuss your child's specific needs, and how we may be able to help.

Our recruitment processes include examining qualifications and references from employers. All of our tutors have a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check, and valid ID check before they are admitted to our potential tutor pool. All tutors must undertake our bespoke CPD course "Tutoring for Success" before they can begin working with clients. Client feedback is also used to provide ongoing training and ensure only the best tuition for your child.

Online tutoring can work really well for students following the GCSE, A level or IB programme at a school outside the UK. Our tutors may be available able to work with your child even with a time difference involved, contact us with your query and we will be in touch.
